Event: ScienceOnline 2013 Watch partyHost: D2I & IU LibrariesWhen: Feb 1st, 2013Where: Geology Building, East Wing, Room S201 (John B. Patton room)Time: 1:30-3:30pm The IU Libraries and the Data to Insight Center at IU are bringing the international science communication conference ScienceOnline to the IU Bloomington campus. ScienceOnline is a non-profit organization that facilitates conversations and collaborations at the intersection of Science and the Web. Every January since 2007, it brings together scientists, students, educators, journalists, librarians, programmers and others interested in the ways that the World Wide Web is changing how science is communicated, taught and done. While the conference is hosted locally, in cities across North America, communities can join the conversation remotely by participating in a watch party. At the IU-based watch party, which is free and open to the public, we will watch one ScienceOnline session Formal Science Education, Information Science Education and Science Writing and poll participants for other sessions they would like to view. In addition, a few of the more prominent talks in asynchronous streaming will be available from the ScienceOnline 2013 Conference held this week in Raleigh.
