IU William & Gayle Cook Music Library

music library banner

The Cook Music Library, recognized as one of the largest academic music libraries in the world, serves the world-renowned Jacobs School of Music and the Bloomington Campus of Indiana University. The collection is comprised of over 700,000 items.

Working with the staff from IU's Digital Library Program, the Cook Music Library is an international leader in the development of digital music libraries. Since 1996 IU students have listened to digitized audio via the Variations system. Now using Variations2, students have access to more than 22,000 complete recordings and a growing collection of digitized scores.

Please note that as of Sunday, May 5, 2013 the new version of IUCAT was put into production. This early version is still lacking some functionality music users are accustomed to using. Please note that the "old" IUCAT remains available at "classic.iucat.iu.edu." We will continue to work with system administrators to improve the new system.
