How to Request Videos from ALF

To request videos held by the Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF):

From the Libraries’ main page, log on to IUCAT (http://www.iucat.iu.edu/authenticate.cgi?status=start) with your username and password (not Guest Access).

Choose DVD/Video search from the menu on the right.

Put the title of the video you want in the Title search field. If more than one record is returned, click on the title you want so that the whole record for the item is displayed.

If necessary, scroll down to the bottom of the record. Under “Location” you will see “Request this item” in red type next to Auxiliary Library Facility. Click on this link.

You will be prompted to select a library for delivery. If you choose Wells Library, you will pick up the video at the East Tower (Research) circulation desk. After you select the delivery library, you will be asked to confirm your request. You will immediately receive email confirmation of your request.

Items requested before noon are delivered that afternoon (except Sundays) for the Bloomington campus. Deliveries to other IU campuses take 5-7 days. You will not receive notification that the item is at the delivery library’s circulation desk;  you can call the circulation desk to see if the ALF delivery has been made.

Materials in the ALF check out to faculty for 120 days.

Please return items to the circulation desk from which you received them. Do not return items to the Wells Library Media & Reserve Services desk.

Feel free to contact the Media & Reserve Services desk for more information at (812) 855-1650.
