Organic Synthesis Resources in the IU Chemistry Library

Resources for Organic Synthesis in the IU Chemistry Library

e-ROS (Encyclopedia of Reagents for Organic Synthesis) is a database of over 48,000 reactions and around 3,500 of the most frequently consulted reagents. It is fully searchable by structure and substructure, reagent, reaction type, experimental conditions etc. and also allows fulltext searches. To link to this resource use:

The print edition is available at QD262 .E53 2009 v. 1-14 B-CHEM REFERENCE

Encyclopedia of reagents for organic synthesis / editors, Leo A. Paquette ... [et al.]. 2nd ed. Hoboken, N.J. : Wiley, 2009.

SPRESI Chemical Structural and Reaction Database. To link to this resource use:
http://www.libraries.iub.edu/scripts/countResources.php?resourceId=191.

A database of 6,000,000 organic and organometallic compounds and data, containing 3.8 million chemical reactions. Of the 627,000 references, 164,000 are patents.

Coverage: 1974-[one year ago] NOTE: Select the "IP Login" button located at the top of the screen to start your search of the database.

Cambridge Structural Database program can be searched at http://webcsd.ccdc.cam.ac.uk. The CSD contains more than 400,000 small-molecule crystal structures, i.e., organic and organometallic compounds containing up to 500 non-H atoms that have been deterined by X-ray or neurton diffraction.  A client version is also available by contacting the Chemistry Library.
