- For very recent annual reports it is often easiest to go to the company's Web site. Typically they are found under the heading "Investor Relations." Find reports back to the mid-1990's in Mergent Online - IUB - IUPUI. For older annual reports, back to 1972, use LexisNexis Academic - IUB - IUPUI. Select "Business" from the top tab, then "Company Profiles" from the Business Search options on the right. Under "Sources" choose the desired date range for annual reports.

- Executive compensation information for public companies is required in the company's annual proxy statement, as explained by the SEC here. Search proxy statements, as well as other SEC filings in LexisNexis Academic (under "Business") - IUB - IUPUI. Or, there is an executive compensation database in LexisNexis Academic. First select the Business tab, then Company Profiles, and under "Source" select "U.S. Executive Compensation Database - Boards & Committees". Enter a company name in the search box.

- You can generate a list based on industry criteria in various databases, see here. Or, Industry Surveys in S&P Netadvantage - IUB - IUPUI - include a nice comparative company analysis towards the end of each report. Also, pulling up a company in one of our company directories will generally include a list of that company's competitors.

- Factiva - IUB - IUPUI - offers nice comparison reports. Click on "Companies/Markets", then "Company". After locating your company snapshot select "Reports" from the left. Choose either a custom report or a ratio comparison report. Mergent Online - IUB - IUPUI - also has comparison reports. From the company screen choose the "Create Reports" tab and then the subheading "Comparison Reports". Other pertinent information can be found in S&P Netadvantage - IUB - IUPUI - Industry Surveys, located under the "Industry" tab.

- There are 30 companies in the Dow and they change from time to time. To see the current list of Dow components, link here to the Dow Jones Web site and you will see a table of Dow indexes. In the right hand column, click on “Components” and a spreadsheet of the current 30 companies will open. You can also see an interesting timeline of the Dow components under “Dow Jones Industrial Average Historical Component Lists.”
