Making Photocopies
Users may make copies of printed books and articles using photocopiers or scanners. The Wells Library has a significant number of scanners for this purpose. There is no charge for using scanners, but there is a fee to make photocopies.
Herman B Wells Library:
ALL copy machines in the Wells Library are located on the first floor of the East Tower, just to the left of the entrance doors. You must use either your Campus Access Card to pay for copies or purchase a Copy Card. Each of these cards works as a debit card. Copy machines in the Wells Library do not accept cash or credit cards.
Visitors may purchase a special Copy Card from machines located in the Herman B Wells Library on the ground floor near the cafeteria and the first floor of the Research Collections (East Tower) near the circulation desk. The cost for a Copy Card is $1.00. The machine will subtract the card fee from the money inserted.

The Libraries recommend that users scan materials they would like to keep and either send the scanned documents to themselves via email or download them to a portable "flash" or "thumb" drive. There is no charge for scanning. Portable drives can be purchased at the West Tower circulation desk.
The East Tower has 9 scanners located on the first floor. The E-Scan machine is located near the New Books shelves. Eight standard scanners are located in a special scanning area near the IU History collection.
Branch Libraries:
Most branch libraries have photocopy machines. Copies can be made using the Campus Access Card or cash. Most machines that accept cash also make change.
Visitors may purchase a Copy Card that will work as a debit card in the same way as a Campus Access Card. These can be purchased from machines located in the Herman B Wells Library on the ground floor near the cafeteria and the first floor of the Research Collections (East Tower) near the circulation desk The cost for a Copy Card is $1.00. Copies and More
The Copies & More location in the Herman B Wells Library has permanently closed. You can find Copies & More located in the Indiana Memorial Union and at Eigenmann Hall; these locations offer color copies and additional services. Additional services include FAX send and receive, binding, laminating, trnasparencies, envelopes, scans, and iron on transfers. A guest Copy Card can also be purchased.
