Printing

Most printing in the IU Bloomington libraries is laser printing, with an associated cost.

Students and faculty have allotments of "free" black & white page prints, which can be made on printers located in the IU Bloomington Libraries, or in Student Technology Clusters located in the Herman B Wells Library Information Commons, or around campus. Most libraries have implemented print release stations at printers so that users can mark several items to print and release them to the printer at one time.

Color laser prints and prints from color plotters are available for a higher cost. These machines can be found in the Herman B Wells Library Information Commons (West Tower) and in a few branch libraries.

Staff may purchase printing at the UITS Support Center Desk, located at the entrance to the Information Commons (West Tower) of the Herman B Wells Library.

Student, faculty and staff users can check the status of their allotments at:  http://stcweb.stc.indiana.edu/print/

Visitors holding Library Guest Accounts may purchase black & white printing (not color laser prints or prints from the color plotter) in increments of 100 ($4.00) at the UITS Support Center Desk, located at the entrance to the Information Commons (West Tower) of the Herman B Wells Library.

The Libraries have a few Okidata dot-matrix printers available for free printing of brief amounts of information, 10 pages or fewer per day.  These are attached to some workstations in the Wells Library (Research Collections Lobby, Government Information, Microforms and Statistical Services, and on each floor in the Research Collections stacks), the Lilly Library, the Archives of Traditional Music, the Law Library, and the Education Library.
