Library Guest Account

Visitors to the Libraries may request a Library Guest Account to allow them full access from inside the IU Bloomington Libraries to online databases, electronic books, electronic journals and the resources of the Internet.  These accounts are free and are valid for up to 20 days.

To obtain a Library Guest Account, stop at the circulation desk at the Wells Library East Tower or at any one of our branch libraries on campus.  Present a picture ID and ask for a Library Guest Account.

The Library Guest Account will allow you to access general pages on the Internet, including email programs.

The Library Guest Account can be used on any library-owned computer in the Wells Library and in the branch libraries.  It cannot be used in the Information Commons, or on computers that are part of the Student Technology Clusters, including those in branch libraries. Also, the Library Guest Account cannot be used to connect from computers off-campus.

Offering this network access fulfills our commitment to the Federal Depository Library Program as it allows citizens to easily access electronic government information.

Priority use of library workstations is for students, faculty and staff of Indiana University. Non-affiliated users with Library Guest Accounts may be asked to relinquish the workstations to the priority users.

To print in the IU Bloomington Libraries, you must purchase black & white laser printing to attach to your Library Guest Account.
