About Us (Media)

Media and Reserve Services (MRS) is a dynamic learning environment located on the ground floor of the Herman B Wells Library.  It is a unit within the Information Commons/Undergraduate Library Services (ICUGLS) department.  It is a one-stop service point for access to Media (English and foreign-language feature films, TV series, and documentaries), foreign-language CDs and cassettes, audiobooks on CD and cassette, videogames, Reserves, old Newspapers, and to check out digital equipment (iPods, digital voice recorders, digital video/still recorders), and analog tape recorders.

MRS welcomes more than 120,000 patrons each year.  We value our pleasant and safe environment with two distinct areas of study -- one for quiet study, and one to facilitate the use of various multimedia playback machines for both audio and visual materials. MRS also provides computing stations for access to IUCAT (IU Online Catalog), class reserves, journals, and the Internet.

Vision Statement

MRS supports the teaching, learning and cultural needs of Indiana University-Bloomington faculty, instructors, students, staff, and the Bloomington community by a) maintaining a high-quality collection of non-print media, and reserve materials, b) providing prompt access to reliable information resources, and c) providing excellent user service and support.
