| There are multiple ways in which to access two of the most important English language newspapers -- the New York Times and The Times (London). We recommend using the following resources for finding book reviews: (The Wells Library also owns the complete runs of these in print.) 4. BOOK REVIEWS ON THE WEB | |||||
| There is a wealth of book review sites on the Web, especially for general interest and fiction titles. Browse through Yahoo’s directory at http://dir.yahoo.com/Arts/Humanities/Literature/Reviews/ to see a sampling. Although primarily a bookselling site, www.amazon.com sometimes includes published book reviews, as well as those submitted by the general public – although these are of variable quality. Increasingly, readers are looking at blogs for book reviews. Remember that such reviews have no institutional backing or endorsement, and issues of accuracy apply to them as to anything else you might read on the web. However, they’re interesting, newsy and often discuss books which pass under the radar of the mainstream media. Here’s a selection: | |||||
