IQ-Wall Guidelines for Use
The IQ-Wall has been developed by the UITS Advanced Visualization Lab to promote innovative research and education using information-rich, ultra-resolution displays. The IQ-Wall installation in the Wells Library is a collaborative effort of the IU Libraries, UITS, and the Pervasive Technology Institute. The IQ-wall is part of Indiana University’s robust computing and networking environment used by members of the campus community to create, discover, and share information electronically. All users must comply with IU’s Information & IT Policies when using computing resources like the IQ-Wall. All users must also comply with IUB Libraries' IQ-Wall Policies for Use.
Guideline #1: Ethical use
Guideline #2: Accessing the IQ-Wall
IQ-Wall orientation is required before login access to the IQ-Wall is granted. Check the schedule for monthly, open orientation sessions or email wells-iq-wall-l@indiana.edu to set up a special orientation session. Once access has been granted, you should reserve the IQ-Wall to guarantee uninterrupted use. Consult the Wells IQ-Wall web pages to learn more about reservation process: http://libraries.iub.edu/iq-wall.
Guideline #3: Do not use IU's computing and network resources for commercial purposes
You may not use IU’s computing and network resources for personal financial gain and/or commercial purposes, whether for-profit or non-profit. This also applies to the IQ-Wall.
Guideline #4: Comply with copyright law
Don’t violate copyright law by illegally copying, distributing, downloading and/or uploading information from the Internet (or any electronic source). This includes copyrighted audio materials, movies, software, video games, and images. Copyright law protects a work, in whatever medium, unless it has been placed in the public domain. Owners of copyrights hold exclusive right to the reproduction and distribution of their work; therefore, unauthorized use and distribution of copyrighted works is illegal. Even innocent, unintentional infringement violates copyright law.
Guideline #5: Handle data appropriately
