The IU Data Management Service brings together experts in research data preservation and management policy to bring you a series of workshops co-sponsored by the IU Libraries, the OVPR, and ORA.

Pimple (Director of Teaching Research Ethics Programs Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions Indiana University) will discuss ethical and technical aspects of data ownership, data stewardship, data access, and data sharing. Data Visualization and Management: the Basics

Interested in using data visualization to enhance your research but don’t know where to begin? Learn how to use basic visualization techniques and open source tools including Google Refine, Gephi, and Sci2 at our half-day workshop, where we’ll give users the chance to test their skills using data from a variety of open data sources. Experts will also cover the best ways to manage your data throughout its lifecycle. No data visualization experience needed, but attendees should have a working knowledge Microsoft Excel.
