Web Archives at Indiana University

The Web Archives at Indiana University project was established to collect and preserve primary source materials on the web using the Archive-It service and the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine (http://www.archive.org/web/web.php) technology. A team of library staff representing cataloging, collection development and the University Archives are developing methods to select, catalog, and provide access to these born-digital materials. Scholars and researchers can use these collections to trace changes in publicly accessible web sites and retrieve information that is no longer currently available on the web.

The Libraries began archiving websites on the Archive-It web site (http://www.archiveit.org) in spring 2006.  These three collections are being archived:
