ARTstor is a digital image library of more than 1,000,000 (million) images in the areas of art, architecture, the humanities, and social sciences with a set of tools to view, present, and manage images for research and pedagogical purposes.

 

Recently added features (as of August 2011):

  • - Filter search results by Time Period, Classification, and Geography
  • - Choose the number of thumbnails displayed

NOTE: Beginning August 22, 2011, users will be prompted to register to download images.  Users who don't currently have an account will need to create on while they are ON CAMPUS or when they are at home and logged in using the VPN connection to access ARTstor.  Once users have successfully logged into ARTstor they will be able to download images from successful searches






ARTstor Instructor Privileges Policy

Indiana University
Bloomington Campus (IUB)

All IUB "instructors of record" are entitled to register for Instructor Privileges in ARTstor.  Instructor privileges include the ability to:

         create study image groups
         manage and maintain personal digital image collections
         administer graduate assistant privileges
         customize student access. 
 
Instructors of record at IUB include full or part-time faculty, graduate assistants or instructors who are teaching a class at IUB.  Courses may be credit bearing or not.   

IUB faculty and staff must be instructors of record to gain Instructor Privileges within ARTstor.  IUB visiting faculty, adjuncts, teaching assistant, graduate assistants, staff will need to provide a letter (email or hardcopy) of introduction from the Chair of their department, or from a department head verifying their current teaching status at IUB.  

It is presumed that the instructor of record will have a current IUB user ID. 

Staff of LIT, senior library staff, librarians, TLTC staff, and matriculated SLIS students may also receive instructor privileges, even if they are not instructors of record.

All letters and requests for instructor privileges should be forwarded to the Head of the Fine Arts Library:
