The Puerto Rico Online Encyclopedia (PROE) is an educational project of the Fundación Puertorriqueña de las Humanidades (FPH). This electronic bilingual publication fulfills the Foundation's purpose to meld the humanistic tradition with technology. The vision of the Encyclopedia is attuned to the advances of digital culture at the dawn of the 21st century. As a non-profit institution affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the FPH has worked constantly for 30 years to further our commitment to the values of Puerto Rican culture.
Authoritative information is provided on this site regarding all aspects of Puerto Rico, including the experience and achievements of Puerto Ricans on the island and elsewhere.
The users of this Encyclopedia will have the opportunity to learn about the details of Puerto Rican history, organized in 21 topics, including a special section on the Puerto Rican Diaspora. The content is presented in both Spanish and English. (Project welcome)
