Health, Physical Education & Recreation Collection Home Page
The Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) Library is Indiana University's main repository for books, journals, and other related materials that primarily reflect the curricular and research strengths of the three departments in the School of HPER: the Department of Applied Health Science, the Department of Kinesiology, and the Department of Recreation and Park Administration. The collections are an outgrowth of what was once a small graduate student reading room in the HPER building filled with donated monographs, textbooks, and a few periodical subscriptions. Currently the library holds over 25,000 volumes and 250 periodical subscriptions. Individual collections consist of: the circulating collection, Reference, Career Reference Collection, the Historic Books Collection, the Drake Cookbook Collection, the Video Collection, Current Periodicals, Archival Periodicals for the past decade, the HPER Theses and Dissertations Collection, and a multitude of electronic books, journals, and databases.
