Music Library Computing
The IU Music Library offers PC-compatible and Macintosh computers for use by patrons.
General information about the computers
- 157 stations are available to students, divided between three floors:
First floor
Includes 10 public Windows stations (LIT/STC Dell Optiplex GX620 machines), including a microfilm scanning station for digitixing microfilms, 1 Macintosh Infostation (STC iMac G4), and 38 Windows stations (STC Dell Optiplex GX280 machines), each with a 5-channel headphone amplifier.
Second floor
Includes 1 public Windows station (LIT/STC Dell Optiplex GX620 machines) and 5 Macintosh Infostations (STC iMac G4).
Third floor
Includes 2 labs. The M373 contains 30 24" Intel Macintosh computers, each coupled with a KORG Triton Le MIDI keyboard. The M360 lab contains a further 20 Intel Macs, 18 of which are coupled with KORG Triton Le MIDI keyboards and one of which is coupled with an Epson large format scanner. The M360 lab also contains 53 Windows PCs (Dell Optiplex GX280 machines), 18 of which are coupled with KORG Triton Le MIDI keyboards. 2 Macintosh stations also include a MOTU 8-channel 828 interface, coupled with a cassette player, and 8 of the Macs in M373 contain extra large 88-key KORG Triton MIDI keyboards.
- Software on all Lab Windows and Mac builds include standard professional software for word processing, web, and graphics design. All stations also include Finale and Sibelius music notation applications. All Macs also include the following applications;

Max/MSP 4.2 (select stations in M360 only)
Getting help
We have created many online help documents available via the Indiana University Knowledge Base and the Music Library Tutorials site. In addition, manuals for many of the applications are available in the library's open reserve room on the first floor.
NOTE: Trained computer consultants are available on the 1st and 3rd floors to assist with general computing questions and more-specific software issues. Contact the Music Library Computing Staff at mltech (at) indiana (dot)edu for help with music applications or Variations 2. For additonal help, visit the M.L.I.T. lab in room 383 (on the 3rd floor) for walk-in assistance during the following hours:

KORG Triton Keyboards
- Tutorials can be found here, providing an introductory guide to using the Triton keyboards in the Music Library, including links to more advanced guides. There are also hardcopies of the Triton manual on each floor and in the closed reserves.
Reporting problems
- All problems with software or hardware should be directed to the STC Consultant working on the floor.
