Circulation and Reserve Policies (Geosciences Library)

Circulation Policies

Borrower Eligibility - All scholars and researchers are welcome to use the resources of the Geosciences Library.  Faculty, staff, students, those officially affiliated with Indiana University, as well as residents of the State of Indiana may charge out material for home or office use.  Most library material circulates; notable exceptions include reference materials and periodicals.    Either an IU ID or Library Borrowers Card must be presented at the circulation counter to charge out material.  Proof of affiliation with Indiana University (Usually an IU photo ID) or photo ID and proof of Indiana residency (usually an Indiana driver's license) is required for activation of a library borrowers account.  A borrower is financially responsible for all material charged out on their Library Borrowers Card.

Renewals - Renewals may be made online through IUCAT or by email (libgeol@indiana.edu) or telephone (812-855-1494).

Returns - Materials may be returned to any library on campus or mailed to Geosciences Library, Room 601 Geology, 1001 E. 10th Street, Bloomington, In 47405. Additionally, there are three outdoor book return drop boxes.  One is located on the South side of the Wells library in the parking lot near the sidewalk that leads up to the building.  Two are located on a small circle drive on 7th street near the Neal Marshall Center to the left as you exit the south end of the "library" parking lot.
