Indiana Plans for Depository Library Services

On August 17, 2001, Franceis J. Buckley, Jr., the Superintendent of Documents, sent a memo to Depository Library Directors providing background information about state plans. The memo and attachment are provided here in pdf.

Doug Conrads, Serials/Documents Cataloger at the Indiana State Library provided an excellent history of Indiana state plans for documents, IPDLS History(Word Document) or in HTML IPDLS History(HTML).

It referred to the following:

LSTA 5-Year Plan: 2003 - 2007. Revisions to the LSTA Plan for Indiana, 2003-2007, Recommendations by Indiana State Library Advisory Council on January 21, 2005, Adopted by the Indiana Library and Historical Board on February 11, 2005. Approved by Institute of Museum & Library Services April 5, 2005.

In 2007, Indiana depository libraries met, developed, and agreed to the concepts included the Indiana Light Archive  for Federal Documents.  While this program was never official signed, Indiana depository libraries continue to accept and follow its principles.

FDLP Shared Vision for the Future: At the FDLP meeting in October 2012 in Washington, D.C., announcements were made concerning new plans. The preliminary details for the State Forecasts and Action Plans have been released on the FDLP Desktop. If you have ideas or would like to discuss future activities, send a message to the "FDLP in Indiana Listserv" with suggestions.

Indiana submitted its State Focused Action Plan to GPO in July 2012.

U.S. FDLP Desktop provides copies of Administrative Notes and other documents that detail what FLDP state plans should include.
