GIS Day at Indiana University
On November 14, 2012, Indiana University will celebrate GIS Day
with a host of informational booths and activities to showcase
the exciting work that the Indiana community is doing with
Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Weather permitting the Indiana Geological Survey staff will bring
their Quake Cottage (http://igs.indiana.edu/EarthquakeExperience/),
an earthquake simulator unit, that mimics the shaking experienced
during earthquakes.
You will find geocaching activities (http://gisday.indiana.edu/geocache.php) and
interactive election maps. Don't miss John Steinmetz's keynote
presentation about LiDAR for Smarties - All you need to know so
you won’t have to ask (http://gisday.indiana.edu/keynote.php).
Learn more about Indiana's 2011-13 statewide orthophotography and
LiDAR project. Discover the IndianaMap, Indiana's one map for
everyone, using a 55 inch touch display table.
