The IUB Libraries are switching their subscription from Heritage Quest to Ancestry Library Edition beginning Oct. 1. Heritage Quest will continue to be available through Oct. 31, but will no longer be accessible at IUB after that date. The reasons for the switch include the comprehensiveness of the manuscript U.S. Census records in Ancestry Library Edition, additional U.S. military and social security files, and the inclusion of international resources. Additionally, Ancestry Library Edition includes limited access to the newspaper, Stars and Stripes, a popular source for information related to U.S. military actions overseas. This resource will be very useful in various local history research projects as well as studies of local communities.
