Dancing at LotusFest

Bloomington's Lotus World Music & Art Festival is being celebrated in 2010 from September 17^th to 19^th.

The festival is named after Indiana songwriter and musician Lotus Dickey. You can find information about him, and about the festival through their website here. If you're an IU student, staff member, or faculty member, you can check out the 1982 documentary film by Richard Kane and Dillon Bustin, Water from Another Time. This film, which features Lotus Dickey and other old-timers, is available online here, through the Ethnographic Video Online. The film is also available for checkout in the Media and Reserve Services Department of the Herman B Wells Library.

And finally, what better way to preview LotusFest than with a virtual trip to the hometown of Lotus Dickey? This film of Orange County, Indiana even includes footage of the historic West Baden Springs Hotel in Indiana before a major restoration.
