IU Libraries Named Nation's Best
08/27/2010
In January 2010, the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) named the Indiana University Bloomington Libraries winner of its Excellence in Academic Libraries Award in the university division.
The annual award, conceived as a team honor, recognizes the accomplishments of librarians and staff who work together to support the mission of the institution. At IU, that includes nearly 300 employees working in 16 libraries or units, ranging from branch libraries to the Ruth Lilly Auxiliary Library Facility and the Wylie House Museum.
At a horn-tooting celebration in the lobby of the Herman B Wells Library, IU President Michael McRobbie and Provost Karen Hanson congratulated hundreds of employees and guests. The president of the ACRL presented the award, sponsored by YBP Library Services.
