Business/SPEA Information Commons Renovations Spring/Summer 2010
12/04/2009
The Business/SPEA Information Commons (SPEA 150) will be renovated
during the spring and summer of 2010. As a consequence, the
Business/SPEA IC will close at 5:00 p.m. on December 23, 2009, and
not reopen until the end of August 2010, in time for the fall
semester.
After the renovation, the Business/SPEA IC will have 16 group study rooms, a café, and comfortable seating for group and individual work. There will be a core collection of approximately 35,000 books and journals.
Below are arrangements for continued service while the Business/SPEA IC is closed. The staff, collections, and services will be moved to the Wells Library during the month of January. Construction will begin around February 15.
Specialized Databases: The Business/SPEA IC workstations providing access to Bloomberg, Datastream, Wharton Research Data Service (WRDS), Choices and SDC Platinum will be moved to the Reference Department on the first floor of the east tower of the Wells Library.
Reference Assistant: You may get assistance with your research questions at either of the reference/help desks on the first floor in either the east or west towers of the Wells Library. For phone, email, texting, or IM assistance, go to the “Ask a Librarian” webpage (http://www.libraries.iub.edu/index.php?pageId=43).
Collections: The circulating book and journal collections as well as the reference collection will be housed on the eleventh floor of the east tower of the Wells Library. Books may be checked out at the loan desk on the first floor. Media will be housed in Media and Reserve Services (Wells E044).
Purchase Recommendations: If there are books or journals that you would like the Business/SPEA IC to add to its collections or other collections on campus, please contact Steven Sowell (sowell@indiana.edu).
Individual and Group Study Space: Students will find individual and group study space in any of the libraries on campus (see map at http://www.libraries.iub.edu/map.php). The closest locations to the Kelley School of Business and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs are in the Wells Library.
Computer Workstations and Printing: Students will find computer workstations and printing available in any campus library as well as any UITS Student Technology Center.
