The IU Libraries will celebrate the International Edible Book Festival on April 1, 2009. (Sounds like an April Fools' Day gag, but it's not.)

View an exhibition of edible books, created by IU Libraries employees, in the lobby of the Herman B Wells Library.

Time: 1:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The event celebrates books as nourishment, and challenges the familar concept of a book. Books take many forms, including an increasing number of books available digitally.

Since 2008 the IU Libraries have been working with Google to digitize volumes in the university collections. IU is the first of the libraries to participate in the Google digitization project as a result of the joint agreement between the CIC (BigTen) and Google.
