On Friday, October 19, Indiana University President Michael McRobbie hosted a ceremony to unveil a bronze bust of Chancellor Herman B Wells that now greets visitors to the Wells Library.

"This magnificent representation of Dr. Wells in the library that bears his name," McRobbie said,  "is a reminder that his spirit and presence are still felt everywhere you go on this campus."

Patricia Steele, Ruth Lilly Interim Dean of University Libraries, spoke of her connection to Wells, who was president when she was an IU student in 1961.
