Film expert Mike Mashon will hold a presentation at the Lilly Library on Wednesday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m., entitled "Making Bart Simpson Immortal: Moving Image Preservation at the Library of Congress." Mashon will discuss film preservation, archiving, and the new National Audiovisual Center opened this year by the Library of Congress.

This event is part of archives and special collections month. In its second consecutive year, and hosted by IUB Libraries, this year's activities highlight the importance of films and film-related collections to teaching and research. "Reel Images: Film in Teaching and Research" runs through October and features panels, speakers, and film screenings.
