Technical Reports Now Available Thanks to Federal Depository
04/13/2007
The IU academic community now has free access
to technical reports and bibliographic records of the online
library of the National Technical Information Service
(NTIS), thanks to a
collaborative effort of NTIS and the Government Printing
Office.
The National Technical Information Service is the largest central
resource for government-funded scientific, technical,
engineering, and business-related information available
today.
Because IU is a Federal Depository Library, users affiliated with
IU now have online access to approximately 240,000
publications from 1964 to 2000 through DARTS, the Depository
Access to Reports, Technical & Scientific, a collaboration of
NTIS and the Government Printing Office.
Once in the system, users will be able to search, find, and
download documents to the library's workstation desktops. Access
is password-driven. IU students and faculty should contact staff
in Government Information, Microforms and Statisitcal Services
Department. libgpd@indiana.edu
