Artist James McGarrell to Present Lecture for Fine Arts Library Benefit

Internationally known artist and former IU faculty member James McGarrell will present a lecture "Rules of the Game" on Saturday, January 27, at 5 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium (FA 015).
McGarrell was a painting professor at Indiana University from 1959 until 1981, where he pioneered important improvisational approaches to painting the human figure and made an indelible mark on the painting program at IU.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Following the talk, there will be a dinner to benefit the Fine Arts Library. The dinner is by reservation only and costs $45 per person, with $20 tax deductible. Call 855-5300 to reserve by January 22.
