Find race history and related information on the Little 500 at the Government Information, Microforms & Statistical Services (GIMSS) department on the 2nd floor of the Herman B Wells Library.

GIMSS has mounted a small exhibit on researching the "worl'd greatest college weekend." A poster, Using old newspapers to research "Little 5," provides instructions on locating back issues of the Indiana Daily Student on microform. Or research bicycle history through the Lexis-Nexis Congressional database.

Visitors can also view The Little 500: A Visual History on the television at the main entrance to GIMSS.

The Little 500 is the country's most famous intramural collegiate cycling competition and the inspiration for the 1979 film Breaking Away. This year the women's race is Friday, April 21, followed by the men's race on Saturday, April 22.
