Disbound and Dispersed: The Leaf Book Considered is on display at the Lilly Library from April 14 to May 26. It is the first exhibition to examine the history of the leaf book.

A panel discussion will be held in the Lounge of the Lilly Library on Friday, April 14, at 4:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

The scheduled panelists are Paul F. Gehl, Custodian of the John M. Wing Foundation on the History of Printing at the Newberry Library; Joel Silver, Curator of Books at the Lilly Library and curator of the Disbound and Dispersed exhibition; and Michael Thompson, a member of the Caxton Club, an organization supporting the publication of fine books.

A leaf book contains an original leaf from a significant printed book or manuscript that has been complemented with an essay or other explanatory material and rebound in a fine press publication.

Indiana University is the final destination for this traveling exhibition, which started at the Newberry Library in Chicago before continuing to the San Francisco Public Library and Harvard's Houghton Library.

The Lilly Library is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
