View Films On Your Own Time

01/04/2006

Films Media Group Log-In Screen
Watch Movies for Class at FMG
Your professor has assigned a video for class, and you don’t want to watch it in a lab. IUB Libraries now offers an alternative—watch a film for free on your own computer any time you want.

Through a partnership with Films Media Group, IUB Libraries offers students free access to 38 films during a six-month trial. Media Services provides access to the educational documentaries through on-demand digital streaming. Viewing is available in large screen through Windows Media and QuickTime at 300Kbps.

When the trial ends, Media Services will continue the service based on faculty requests and student feedback with access to over 1,000 film titles in the areas of anthropology, communication, gender studies, psychology, and more.

IUB Libraries already have digital on-demand one-year subscriptions for 19 films.

To access the collection, visit http://www.fmgondemand.com and log in using the following playlist code:

Playlist Code: XZPNVT

You may experience a slight delay in accessing the on-demand system. Be sure to Log Out when finished.

Faculty who want to set up their own playlists or class folders can contact Monique Threatt, Librarian for Media, Communication & Culture, at 855-9857 for a username and password.

Indiana University is one of the first Big Ten schools to subscribe to educational films through digital streaming. The films are free to university users.
