Paul Revere Awards On Display at Music Library

10/24/2005

1st Place, Folio (Vocal Score), MPA

Winners of the Paul Revere Awards, sponsored by the Music Publishers Association, are on exhibit at the William and Gayle Cook Music Library.

Through the awards, named for Paul Revere, who was America's first music engraver, the MPA annually recognizes excellence in the graphic design of music publications across all genres. Several hundred submissions are narrowed to winners in 13 categories. This award acknowledges publishers for their efforts in creating art for the music industry.  A panel assesses the clarity, creativity, and overall design of each publication.

The winning entries and certificates are then sent on a 10 month tour of the US, being hosted in a different library each month. Other exhibit sites include Old Dominion University, the University of Houston, and the Los Angeles Public Library, as well as Indiana State University, Butler University, and the University of Notre Dame.

The Paul Revere Awards will be at Indiana University through the first week of November.
