Award Funds Librarian and Faculty Research
09/01/2005
Eligible IU librarians and faculty with research ideas can apply for the Herbert S. White Collaborative Award. Applications for the $2,500 award are being accepted through November 1.
Revised in 2004, the White Collaborative Award funds collaborative research efforts developed by one or more tenured or tenure track IU Bloomington Librarians and one or more tenured or tenure track IU faculty members from any campus.
Research efforts should result in a published book or journal article.
The White Collaborative Award Committee will review applications and evaluate them according to the following criteria:
* Qualifications of the applicants - their educational and research background
* The project's contribution to the subject area of the research
* Research methodology
* Timeline
* Role of each collaborator in the project
* Total budget for the project and how the Collaborative Award funding fits with other funding requested or received
* Potential targeted venues for published work
The award may be used for research-related travel and lodging for applicants and collaborators, funding for research assistants, purchasing and/or renting equipment, and photocopying/scanning research materials. The purchase of general office supplies, such as pens, paper, and staples, is excluded.
Applications should be submitted to Virginia Sojdehei, the Herman B Wells Library, room 201A.
Please call Susan Yoon, in the IUB Libraries Office of Development, at 855-4182 with any questions.
