IU Negotiates New Bibliographic Software Site Licenses
06/24/2004
IU recently negotiated a new two-year bibliographic software
site-license agreement with Thomson ISI Researchsoft. The new
site license includes Endnote (Windows and Mac OS X) and Reference
Manager (Windows) bibliographic management software.
The new agreement does not include ProCite, which had been covered under the previous agreement. ProCite has been infrequently updated in recent years and has not seen a major revision since 2001. Current users of ProCite may continue to use the software, and IU Libraries and UITS staff will continue to support the current version. However, IU will no longer distribute ProCite after the previous agreement expires June 30.
ProCite users are encouraged to consider EndNote as a possible alternative for their bibliographic management needs.
Information on converting ProCite databases to EndNote format is available at www.endnote.com/support/faqs/enfaq17.asp.
Endnote and Reference Manager may be downloaded from IUWare, iuware.indiana.edu/.
