Book Talk Showcases Limited Editions Club
01/28/2004Join us for a book talk and learn about limited edition books that showcase the work of many accomplished writers, printers, and modern artists.
The talk is in conjunction with an exhibit at the Lilly Library and the African American Cultural Center Library.
* Book Talk: "For Readers and Collectors: 75 Years of the Limited Editions Club"
* Presenter: Joel Silver, the Lilly Library's curator of books
* When: Noon to 1 p.m. February 3
* Where: The Elizabeth Bridgwaters Lounge, Room A115, Neal Marshall Black Culture Center
A light luncheon will be served.
The Limited Editions Club Collection features books commissioned as finely rendered editions of classic works. Each volume bears illustrations by highly regarded contemporary artists. The Lilly Library and the African American Cultural Center will display in the coming months five editions illustrated by African American artists.
The First Book of Moses, Called Genesis: the King James Version with silkscreens by Jacob Lawrence is on display in January and February in the African American Cultural Center Library. Additional titles will be exhibited in February at the Lilly Library.
The book talk and luncheon are sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Lilly Library, and the African American Cultural Center Library.
