Retrieval (ALF)

When an item from the ALF vault is requested for use (see use policies), it is automatically entered into a retrieval order in the LAS program (recording the requestor and preferred delivery destination). When an ALF staff member begins retrieval, LAS is used to print a "pick-list." In order of location, the pick-list provides efficient directions to each requested item (aisle, side, ladder, shelf, location, and barcode). From the order picker items are retrieved by staff members as they drive up and down each aisle.
