American Memory
     Governmental archives site from the Library of Congress Historical Collections for
     National Digital Libraries. A very large site including historical documents, motion
     pictures, photographs, and sound recordings concerning topics in the history of the
     United States. Part of the official Library of Congress website.

Acadian Archive
     Academic research archives site relating to documenting and preserving 
     information about the French population of the St John Valley whose roots are in
     Acadie and Quebec (French and English).

Archive of Folk Culture
     Governmental archives site from the Library of Congress Folklife Center's Archive
     of Folk Culture, with multi-format, ethnographic collections including over one
     million photographs, manuscripts, audio recordings, and images.  America's first
     national archive of traditional life.

Archives of Traditional Music
     Academic site from Indiana University. The largest university-based ethnographic
     sound archives in the United States. Its holdings cover a wide range of cultural and
     geographical areas, and include commercial and field recordings of vocal and
     instrumental music, folktales, interviews, and oral history, as well as videotapes,
     photographs, and manuscripts.

North Carolina Folklife Resources
     Academic site with searchable collection of one of the largest archives of Southern
     traditions, especially strong in its holdings of Southern music.

UCLA Folklore and Myth Archives
     Academic site, well done, easy to use, including archival materials from UCLA
     students and faculty with links to many other sites.
