Reformatting (E. Lingle Craig Preservation Laboratory)
The Craig Preservation Lab has undertaken reformatting projects to allow access to items that are so severely damaged or decayed that regular library use presents an imminent danger to their survival. Previous efforts focused on single-item digital facsimile creation for the most significant items in the collections. Under the aegis of the National Endowment for the Humanities Brittle Books Project, the Libraries of the Committe on Institutional Cooperation have also completed microfilming of numerous serials and monographs.
