Special Projects (E. Lingle Craig Preservation Laboratory)
William Lowe Bryan's Bible: The bible used to swear in the Trustees of Indiana University was given a full conservation treatment and rehoused in a custom fitted drop-spine box and presentation case. Cleaned, deacidified, and rebound in limp leather which incorporates the remnants of the original binding, the Bible is ready to serve the Board of Trustees for several more centuries to come.
Somali Posters: Through a grant funded by the Department of Education Title II-C, IU has been able to preserve sound recordings and paper media. This web site represents an effort to convert large paper posters to a medium that will last longer and be more widely usable by students and scholars of Somalia and its culture. The original posters are housed in the African Studies Ephemera Collection in the Main Library at IU.
