Why use library resources, can't you just Google?
   1.  Not everything is freely available
   2.  Credibility
   3.  Easier to search

Where can I find these library resources?
   Here:    Industry Research Guide

A search strategy that might work:

Find Industry Profiles. We have several databases that have nice industry overviews.  Start with S&P NetAdvantage (show me that again!), and then look at Hoovers, MarketLine (show me that again!) and Mergent.  Now, read the profiles.

Find Industry News.  We will look at Factiva (show me that again!); try also RDS Business Reference Suite.

Find more in-depth Market Research.  We have several market research databases, and different ones cover different topics.  Read the little descriptions to see which might be good for your search.  Try Mintel  (show me that again!). and Business Insights.

Find more Company Information.  Here is a link to the Company Research Guide. We subscribe to a wide range of company resources. Try Business & Company Resource Center, or, for public companies only, Mergent Online.

Evaluating Information Sources
Evaluating the information you find is an essential part of the process. There are some tips to help you.

Citing Resources in a Bibliography
No matter where your information comes from, you always need to cite your sources. APA, Chicago, and MLA are the most frequently used documentation styles.
