IFS: The Critical Issue: Philosophy, Film, and Music

The resources listed below have been selected to help you complete your research on one of the following topics: the biography of Alfred Hitchcock, the films of Alfred Hitchcock, the ideas and techniques Hitchcock used as a director and, fourthly, the life and music of composers who worked with Hitchcock.

No one resource will give you all the information you need in order to successfully complete the assignment.  Some of the resources on the list will be appropriate for all topics, while others will only be useful for one or two topics.  Do not feel you need to use all the suggestions.

American Film Institute Catalog
- about - Draws its content from six printed volumes and online content that document every American film from 1893 to 1972.


American Film Scripts Online
- about - Contains 135 film texts by 201 writers from 1903 to 2002. Includes biographical information on writers.


AP Photo Archive
- about - An electronic library containing the AP's current photos and a selection of pictures from their 50 million image print and negative library. International in scope.


Biography Resource Center

Film Index International
- about - Contains data from the British Film Institute covering world cinema from 1930 to the present.


International Index to Film Periodicals

International Index to the Performing Arts
