The Comparative Literature Collection supports teaching, study, and research in fields covering a broad range of topics, including 19th-century European fiction, narrative theory, cultural theory, literature and psychoanalysis, Japanese-Western literary relations, 18th-century comparative arts, the Arthurian tradition in literature and film, medieval allegorical literature, literature by women in the Middle Ages, postcolonial studies, and literatures of ethnic minorities. Literary translation represents a strong component of the program. Materials in the collection may also be of interest to students and scholars of national literatures, film studies, and fine arts, among others.
