Finding Books
Search IUCAT to find out what books, government publications, journals, videos, etc. the library owns.
Hint: Limit your search to: "Blmgtn - All Bloomington Libraries" to only find items that are on this campus.
Hint: Use Boolean Operators (AND, OR, NOT), and Truncation Symbols ($) to construct your searches.
Online Resources and Databases
Business and Company information:
Provides company profiles, corporate directory (searchable by company name, industry, ticker symbol, sales, location), market quotes, and business news. Includes Hoover's company profile database. Also provides links to over 5000 company Web sites.
Passport GMID: Global Market Information Database
The Global Market Information Database (GMID) offers business intelligence reports on countries, companies, markets and consumers; it covers over 350 markets and 207 countries.
MarketResearch.com is a source for market intelligence and includes over 160,000 market research reports from more than 600 publishers. Areas of analysis of new or existing markets include, among others, consumer goods, food and beverages, heavy industry, life sciences, service industries, the public sector, teachnology and the media, along with country reports.
Export/Import information:
The World Factbook provides information on the history, people, government, economy, geography, communications, transportation, military, and transnational issues for 267 world entities. Our Reference tab includes: maps of the major world regions, as well as Flags of the World, a Physical Map of the World, a Political Map of the World, and a Standard Time Zones of the World map.
Premiere data source on the global economy. It contains statistical data for over 550 development indicators and time series data from 1960-2000 for over 200 countries and 18 country groups.
UN Commodity Trade Statistics Database
The database provides statistics on production, trade, transformation and consumption (end-use) for primary, secondary, conventional, non-conventional and new and renewable sources of energy. Contains country,commodity, transaction, export/import country code, and several other variables in a database.
A database of names, descriptions and characteristics of over 165,000 places in the world. Users can search all the information, not just place-names, and segment it.
Proquest Statistical is an index/abstract database, providing bibliographic information to statistics produced by the U.S. federal government, state and local governments, international governmental organizations, and non-governmental organizations. Proquest Statistical provides electronic access to American Statistics Index, Statistical Reference Index and Index to International Statistics.
