Other Resources and Tools

Finding Books in IUCAT
Search the online catalog for books that will give you in-depth information on your topic. Begin your search by using the key terms you discovered in reading overviews on your topic. When you review your search results, pay attention to recurring call numbers. These indicate areas where you can browse the shelves for books on your topic.
Citing Your Sources
You will want to document the sources of information that you use in papers, speeches, and other projects in order to avoid plagarism. You need to give credit to authors for their original work and enable your readers to consult the same sources. The brochures from the Campus Writing Program provide basic instructions. More detailed guides are available online from Purdue University's Online Writing Lab for the APA (American Psychological Association) and the MLA (Modern Language Association) documentation styles.
