Finding Books

Search IUCAT to find out what books, journals, videos, etc. the library owns.

***TIP***

Limit your search to: "Blmgtn - All Bloomington Libraries" to only find items that are on this campus.

***TIP***

When you find a really good title, look at the Subject Headings for that book. Use these in a new search.

***TIP***

Use Boolean Operators (AND, OR, NOT), and Truncation Symbols ($) to construct your searches.

***TIP***

To Find Periodicals (Magazines & Journals) owned by the libraries use the "Periodical Title Search" under More IUCAT Searches.

Finding Magazine & Newspaper Articles

***NOTE***

This database indexes a large number of periodicals but does not provide full-text.

***TIP***

Use the "Advanced Search" and use the Limit Dates To: option to limit your search to articles published before 1950.

***NOTE***

If you find a citation to an article in the Reader's Guide Retrospective, you can use the Request Article Delivery service to have articles only available in print emailed to you. This service takes a few days, so you will need to plan ahead.

Citing Sources

Use the libraries Style Guides to cite your sources.
