- Institute of Management Consultants U.S. (IMC US)
- For consultants interested in careers as sole practitioners, IMC US sponsors workshops, seminars, and conferences. Includes a directory of consultants, articles, papers and the current issue of the IMC Times.
- Management Consultancies Association (MCA)
- The primary professional association for consultants in the UK. The Web site includes a statement of best practices for the profession, a career guide, and back issues of a report on the industry in the U.K. (current issue available for a fee).
Key Trade Journals
- Consultant News
- Newsletter tracks the management consulting industry. Contains valuable rankings and trends in the profession. The "In the News" column tracks the 40 largest management consulting firms.
- Consulting Magazine
- Geared toward management consultants; articles cover innovative ideas, business strategies, client performance, career options, and guidance.
- Consulting to Management
- Formerly called the Journal of Management Consulting. Although this publication has ceased, it is good for historical articles.
- McKinsey Quarterly
- Topics include business strategy, technology, finance, and management. Articles are written by current and former McKinsey consultants and draw from contemporary client research. The journal publishes four standard issues and two themed feature issues per year.
- Outlook Online
- A publication of Accenture.
- Strategy+Business
- The publication of Booz Allen Hamilton. The web site includes the full text of articles and special features such as RSS feeds.

- Frost & Sullivan Growth Partnership Services
- Reports covering technology and market trends in various technology, energy and manufacturing related fields.
- Hoover's Online
- Covers public, private, and international companies. Includes overviews, major industry trends, industry links, and IPO information.
- LexisNexisAcademic
- Includes newspapers, newsletters, magazines, trade journals, wire services, and broadcast transcripts. Offers international resources in several languages. The legal component includes federal and state case law, statutes, secondary sources such as law reviews, and state legal materials. Company Profiles (under Business heading) provide access to company-specific information, including bankruptcy reports and executive compensation information.
