  • Academic Search (EBSCO) -- Provides fulltext coverage of magazine, newspaper, and scholarly journals for almost every academic discipline.
  • British Humanities Index -- An abstracting and indexing tool, the BHI includes some 320 UK humanities journals and weekly magazines published in English-speaking countries, as well as UK newspapers. 1962-present
  • Historical Abstracts -- Index to journals, chapters and theses about world history, 1450 to present.
  • Humanities and Social Sciences Retrospective -- Bibliographic database providing access to scholarly journals in a broad array of the humanities and social sciences.
  • Periodicals Archive Online -- Previously known as PCI Full Text, Periodicals Archive Online offers backfiles of over 400 humanities and social sciences journals.
  • ProQuest Dissertations and Theses -- Comprehensive source for information on doctoral dissertations from universities in the United States and Canada. It also indexes a small number of master's theses.
  • ProQuest Dissertations and Theses: UK & Ireland-- Index to dissertations and theses accepted for higher degrees by universities in the United Kingdom and Ireland 
    Social Theory -- Contains searchable, indexed full text of books and articles by many important thinkers in sociology and related fields.
  • WorldCat-- Database containing the combined online catalogs of most of the libraries in the US and a selection of European libraries.
  • IBZ - Internationale Bibliographie der Zeitschriftenliteratur--Multidisciplinary index to articles predominately in the German language with some citations in English, French, and other language.
  • FRANCIS--A multidisciplinary, multilingual research tool, produced by the Institut de l'Information Scientifique et Technique (INIST).

  • International Medieval Bibliography -- The IMB indexes articles in journals, conference proceedings, collections of essays and Festschriften. Indexing includes materials worldwide in a variety of languages
  • Iter: Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance -- Bibliographic database of interdisciplinary journal literature pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400-1700).

  • Gallica--The national "digital library" of France.
  • ARTFL--Full text of French works, the Middle Ages to the Twentieth Century, used to create the Tresor de la Langue Francaise and other text compilations
  • ArchiveGrid--Access to online finding aids and collection descriptions of archival collections held by thousands of libraries, museums, historical societies and archives.
  • Access to Archives -- A2A is part of the UK archives network. The A2A database contains catalogues describing archives held locally in England and Wales and dating from the eighth century to the present day.
  • British History Online -- British History Online is the digital library containing some of the core printed primary and secondary sources for the medieval and modern history of the British Isles.
  • Center for Research Libraries Catalog -- The CRL is a repository for rare and obscure publications, especially journals and newspapers.
  • Duke Scholarly Collection -- Electronic access to twenty-nine journals published by Duke University Press in humanities and social sciences
  • LIBDEX -- links to library home pages and online catalogs. Over 2500 links to library home pages, and library online catalogs, in over 70 countries. Searchable.
  • Oxford Scholarship Online -- Oxford Scholarship Online contains e-books in the areas of Classics, Economics and Finance, History, Linguistics, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, and Religion.
