Bloomington City Government creates maps of all sorts. You can learn about everything from long range city development plans to what day you should put out your garbage.

  • GIS Department. Contains links to many of the below plus a nice description of what GIS is. For an example of a practical GIS application they provide, try entering your Bloomington city address into MyBloomington, a tool that provides information about services for and points of interest around any city location. Take a look at the entry for the Wells Library.
  • Map Gallery. Maps on topics including transportation, politics, economic and physical development, recreation, city services, and volunteering. Also included are GIS data and tile maps and information on how to order paper copies of maps.
  • Interactive Map. Find fire hydrants, bus routes, census blocks, and more. For the city of Bloomington only.
  • Planning Department. Their reports usually contain detailed maps. Topics include: zoning, transportation, development, environment, and long range planning.
  • City Planning Maps. Includes jurisdiction, growth policy, transportation planning, and zoning maps.
  • Neighborhood & Corridor Plans.

  • Monroe County GIS. Interactive map on Monroe county provides information about Monroe County properties. Also has handy measuring and printing features.
  • Paper maps are housed in East Tower 2. You can find them by searching IUCat.
