Dissertations (Education)

Bound dissertations written by School of Education doctoral students since1994 are shelved under the Library of Congress call numbers LZ1.2. Pre-1994 IU School of Education dissertations are shelved at the IU Auxiliary Library Facility (ALF) and can be delivered upon request through IUCAT. Dissertations may be checked out.

Search for dissertations in IUCAT by entering Thesis Indiana University in the keyword field. If you want to narrow your search to a specific library, select it from the "library" menu. Then click "search". For more help with this search, please see In the Know Episode 22: Education Dissertations in IUCAT.

Many newer dissertations are available only in electronic format. Most of these can be found using ProQuest Dissertations and Theses. Most Indiana University and the CIC university dissertations and theses are available in PDF format without charge to IU students, faculty, and staff. Dissertations and theses from other institutions may be requested via Interlibrary Loan, or you may purchase a copy yourself.

There are several other databases and web sites which include dissertations and theses, some covering specific fields:
